Nature Day Camp
Nature Day Camp is the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed’s camp with a focus on providing campers the opportunity to make connections to the natural world.


For children entering Grades 4 through 6
The quintessential summer camp experience! We are lucky to partner with the YMCA Camp of Maine to call this beautiful place our “base camp” for the week! Swimming, fishing, exploring water and forest habitats, arts & crafts, you name it we do it! All activities are geared towards connecting to nature in a nurturing and supportive environment.
This Monday – Friday camp day runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Registration includes lunch, afternoon snack, equipment and materials, and professionally trained counselors and waterfront staff.
Two sessions to choose from:
Session 1: Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28, 2023 – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Session 2: Monday, August 7 through Friday, August 11, 2023 – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Cost is $250 per 5 -day session – includes lunch, all instruction and equipment, plus a special camp session of Tadpole Patrol aboard the Friends’ 22’ pontoon boat, the OTTER II.

Spring in Maine brings plenty of surprises! We could have snow….we could have rain…we could have sunny skies and warm temperatures! No matter the weather, we will celebrate the changing seasons by searching for tadpoles in ponds and salamanders under logs, going on a geocaching treasure hunt, and learning to cast if there is open water for fishing. Held at the YMCA Camp of Maine on Cobbossee Lake (Winthrop, ME), each day of camp is six hours of outdoor and indoor fun!

Get out there and enjoy Maine in winter! We’ll snowshoe in the woods, look for animal tracks in the snow and try our hand at ice fishing on beautiful Lower Narrows Pond! Held at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop, Maine, each day of camp is six hours of outdoor and indoor fun!

Brooks Joseph Dufour Memorial Scholarship
We offer the Brooks Joseph Dufour Memorial Scholarship to those who would like to participate in our Nature Day Camp or Tadpole Patrol programs as an effort to reduce financial barriers to attending our programs.
