Learn more about our Diver Assisted Suction Harvester (DASH) Plant Control Team.
The Diver Assisted Suction Harvester (DASH) Plant Control Team is a key tool in our fight to control invasive aquatic plants.
DASH team divers descend to the bottom of the lake with a large, vacuum-like nozzle, and they remove the entire milfoil plant. The vacuum mechanism deposits the plants on the surface, where they are collected in large nets and eventually incinerated. The methods of the DASH team are highly effective, as the team is able to remove large amounts of milfoil without allowing fragments to float away and take root in a new area.
